So yes, it's another non-monday post. This goodness simply couldn't wait for monday though:

So No. 20 UCLA (4-0) plays No. 10 Cal (5-0) in a game that will establish the highest hurdle that No. 1 USC must leap on its way to the Pac-10 championship. UCLA has proven it can win with the run or the pass. Cal has proven, well, what? The Golden Bears have played one I-AA team and four I-A teams that among them have a total of three wins over I-A opponents. Cal has proven that it knows how to schedule a 5-0 start.

Maurice Drew stepped on the field. Drew scored five TDs -- three on the ground, one in the air and one on a punt return. He scored the winning TD with 1:35 to play.

Drew, who finished with 279 total yards -- 162 on three punt returns, 65 on 15 carries and 52 on two receptions.

Stat of the game
12: Cal's regular-season 12-game winning streak ended. The Bears also lost their shot at their best start since 1950, when they began the season 9-0.

What a wild ride of a game. Maurice Drew is a monster. To quote a friend: "He didn't just have highlight reel plays, the whole game was a highlight reel for him."

But, our defense left a lot to be desired. There were some good series in the game where california was held to just a field goal, but just looking at the final numbers, you can see on defense, we were simply run over. That's got to change.

Coach Dorrell needs to keep the team focused now on each coming week's game. It is very possible for us to be 9-0 when we meet Arizona State (and maybe 10-0 when we meet USC).
